Merry Christmas from the Sharptons
Hi! We’re Peanut and Grace and we want you to know how doggone wild it’s been around our house lately, thanks to those four members of the family known as ‘humans’.
First, Nikki left for something called her ‘last semester’ at Samford University, somewhere in another country called Alabama. They speak another language there.
Then a guy named ‘Victor’ from Denmark (one of the ‘Great Danes’?) came to stay with us as an exchange student. We still haven’t figured out what we exchanged for him. He talks funny, too. He had a lot of friends who said they thought Jonny was cool. They were right.
Kay and Ben went away to an Island called, ‘Puerto Rico.’ Two months later, Kay received a call from a former colleague who had recently assumed the role of CEO of Evertec — a payment technology company in Puerto Rico, offering her an Investor Relations consulting gig. She goes back to Puerto Rico a lot these days. We don’t get to go with her.
Nikki returned from the country of Alabama with a bachelors, with honor, degree (we always thought she was an honorable bachelorette). Then Jonny graduated (we knew he was getting taller, but ‘graduated’?) from high school with high honors (see - we said he was getting taller). Uncle Pat and Aunt Minnie visited to celebrate the kids’ achievements. We like them. Woof!
Nikki and Kay went to Italy and Germany and brought us… nothing. They toured Rome, Venice, Florence, Heidelberg and Stuttgart (visiting with some long-time friends named “Cutter’). Jonny also went away — to a country named Costa Rica and he brought us… nothing. He was on a church mission trip. We stayed home.
We got left behind again when the family travelled to Florida to celebrate Aunt Francis’ 700th birthday (in dog years).
Jonny went down to Georgia (isn’t that a song?) in August where people also talk funny. While there he became (and we really don’t understand how this happened) a Bulldog! Sad, but true. He also joined a club called, ‘Phi Delta Theta”, which is Greek for ‘Coolest Guys on Campus.’
We’ll let you go, for now. We have to get back to our favorite activities of eating, taking naps, walking and keeping track of those humans.
Come to Charlotte and see us!
Love,
Peanut and Grace and The Sharptons
