Stories Should Say Something
They may entertain you, or make you laugh, or make you forget or make you remember. They may make you think in a way you've not thought of before, or recently. They may help you remember a memory you wish you'd never forgotten. They may stir you to reach out, to dig inside, to broaden your horizon or to narrow your focus. They may make you a better person, or more humble saint, or a gracious receiver, or a penitent sinner. Stories, after all, should say something. |
